Thank you for reading my comments about She Fled God. I interviewed my mother for this book decades before finally writing it. I believe it took that long for her story to form its true shape in my mind. Although I fictionalized some content in the biography, for the most part, the book stands as the truth. While I wrote the book, I realized how greatly I loved my mother, even when her alcoholism distressed me. I didn’t blame her for it. I blamed my father.

Currently, I own an inn in Ludington, Michigan, 350 feet from Stearns Beach. I am married and the mother of three children. I enjoy walking on the beach with the dry sand covering my feet or the wet sand between my toes. Like most writers, I loved to read, with a preference for the classics and well-written books. The Grapes of Wrath stands as one of my favorite novels.
